My wife and I (married 30 years, friends for 35) are looking for a home on a couple of wooded acres in Frederick County, the more secluded the better. We will even consider a nice double-wide. We were wiped out in the "housing bubble" a couple of year ago, losing two houses, a car, and our health insurance, but we're on the mend (our TransUnion credit score is back up to 686 and all our accounts are current). We have been renting in Gore for the past two years and have paid the full year's rent ($14,400) by June both years. We also installed a driveway, built a two-car garage, and made other improvements to the property, even though we're just renters. We need 3 bedrooms (the one for my office can be small) and at least 1-1/2 baths (sometimes I wonder if she's ever coming out of there!). We can manage a small down payment now and will be able to do a little better when my father's estate clears next year.
If you have a vacant property that fits the bill and are interested in owner financing, you can learn more about us at www.jshipp.homestead.com.
We just bought two plots in the Shenandoah Memorial Park, so we're not going anywhere ... just yet anyway.
Hope to hear from you at jimshipp@jimshipp.net. Thanks, Jim & Sue
