Urban Defense Krav Maga, located in Winchester Virginia is an official affiliate school of the Krav Maga Federation of America founded by Official Israeli Krav Maga Coach/Instructor, Expert Alain Cohen, authorized by the Israeli Sport Ministry Wingate Institute Netanya, Israel. Krav Maga is not a martial art but a self defense system developed by Imi Lichtenfeld before World War 2 where it later became the official self defense system of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).

The core foundation of Krav Maga utilizes natural movements and reactions for defense, combined with an immediate and decisive counterattack. One of the key principals of Krav Maga is to perform both defensive and offensive combatives simultaneously.

Our training program teaches the techniques of Krav Maga as originally taught by Imi Lichtenfeld while incorporating the science of neurological strikes that are an integral part of the curriculum developed by Alain Cohen in his Krav Maga Security program.

The instructors at Urban Defense Krav Maga are officially certified instructors under the Krav Maga Federation of America, authorized by the Israeli Sport Ministry Wingate Institute so you can be confident that you are receiving the most authentic and up to date training available. We are fully committed to our students and to our community to provide the highest level of training and instruction.
