Hi Sarah, I don't know how well you remember me but I came to stay shortly before Kristin passed away. I'd love to get in touch with you and the family again.

I have no idea if this website is still active or if you'll receive a notification that I've said something, but I'm Kristin's sister, Sarah.  I've been searching high and low for people who've known and celebrated her. I miss her so much, especially lately, and I'd appreciate any stories you have about her.

I'm so happy to have stumbled upon this!  I remember Kristin very well and she sure was a bright light in a dim world.  I moved to Berryville my senior year and she and Nikki M. were my BEST friends.  We would always hang out and I remember being together at the daily grind before she had to go swimming practice last night.  The last words i heard from her were "see you at lunch tomorrow!"  I remember going to her mom's house and listening to recordings Kristin took of herself on the phone I think - she was such a funny and wonderful person and I'm so thankful I go to know her, if only briefly!

I notice that the website is no longer coming up. I still have the fold out that I picked up some where a while back.

Kristin would and here folks would have been so fortunate if they would have used the defibrillator at the pool.

Does anyone remember Kristin?
Where you there at the pool on November 14th 2002?

A major goal of Kristin's Memorial Foundation is to raise public awareness of sudden cardiac arrest in children.  Knowledge is the key to saving lives.

Many heart conditions are treatable.  Thousands of deaths per year are preventable, but only if the correct diagnosis is made. The tests needed to discover many of these heart conditions are painless and inexpensive, but the treatment is not.  Kristin's Memorial Foundation provides direct financial assistance to families in order to lessen the financial burden associated with the diagnosis and treatment of these potentially fatal heart conditions.

In addition, the foundation purchases automatic external defibrillators for the community and ensures the public has the training necessary to use them.

Young or old, early defibrillation is the key to surviving cardiac arrest.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to establish, maintain, and support programs that will help identify and treat children and family members at risk for sudden cardiac death.  Kristin's Memorial Foundation will achieve its mission by promoting public awareness through educational campaigns; supporting Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) placement and training, and providing direct financial support to families undergoing diagnostic testing and treatment of certain heart conditions causing sudden cardiac arrest in children and young adults.
