The methamphetamine epidemic in the Shenandoah Valley involves a large number of men and women with dependent-age children.

However, we know little about the parenting strains experienced by methamphetamine-using mothers and fathers and the relationship of these parenting strains to mental health outcomes, specifically depressive symptoms.

One of the main reasons we put up this forum. Please feel free to post without using your name.

Methamphetamine in the Shenandoah Valley is recking havoc on families.

Meth: A vicious drug that destroys lives, families, children's hopes, and dreams...

Crystal meth is so powerful that it can immediately transform casual users into out-of-control junkies. Once a person is seduced by this drug, the end result is that lives are destroyed often including those of innocent family members.

Meth is increasingly available in the Shenandoah Valley. Most of the methamphetamine available in Virginia is produced by Mexican DTOs and criminal groups using the hydriodic acid/red phosphorus method in high-volume laboratories in Mexico and California.

I DON'T KNOW THAT I WOULD EVEN CALL IT METH ANYMORE

Mixing Meth with Fentanyl is deadly. The human body cannot swing from a heavily sedated effect from Fentanyl to a tremendous stimulant effect from methamphetamine without having an emotional breakdown or getting very sick.

Meth is a highly addictive substance and it's tough to get off of once you're on it.

If you, or someone you know, need help to stop using substances - whether the problem is methamphetamine, alcohol or another drug - call SAMHSA's National Helpline at 1-800-662-HELP (4357) or TTY: 1-800-487-4889, or text your zip code to 435748 (HELP4U), or use the SAMHSA's Behavioral Health Treatment Services Locator to get help.
